REVLON RUN/WALK FOR WOMEN!
May 8th was a fantasic day for me - One of my daughters and I participated in the Revlon Run/Walk for women in California, a huge fundraiser for women’s cancers. After walking with some sixty thousand people through the streets of downtown Los Angeles, we arrived in the Colesium to receive our commorative medal. In 2002 I was dianosed with a rare form of cancer, a sarcoma, which can originate anywhere in the body but mine mimicked ovarian cancer. I survived two major surgeries and 6 months of chemotherapy so walking with so many survivors and supporters was a major thrill. I was not well enough in 2003 to walk but my daughter did. Next year I will participate again and hope that my son and other daughter, and anybody else I can corrall will walk with me. This was my first 5k walk and I loved every minute. About half way through I was exhausated but I saw people walking with canes so I was determined to finish even if I had to crawl! Here is a shot of me on the left, my daughter on the right and her friend in the middle.

Did you walk the track at the Coliseum, or outside of it?

No, we did not walk the track but entered the Coliseum through one of the tunnels to the beat of drummers! The finish line was in the middle of the field and from there you could mill around or sit in the stands to eat your “snack pack”!
