UPDATE ON MY HUSBAND!
Since I submitted the last report on my husband little has changed. He continues to do poorly but is holding his own. It is unbelievably difficult to watch an incredibly intelligent professional man reduced to just struggling to get along each day, walk a few steps and stay in contact with reality. His children continue to visit him as often as possible and although he knows each and every one of us, time and space become very confused as he tries to remember who visited at what time. Vigilence with the insurance company and the nursing facility is exhausting and time consuming. The staff do their best but are poorly paid for extremely hard work and visits by doctors are hard to come by. Elder care in this country is a disgrance but persistence on the part of the family in maintaingin care is essential. My heart goes out to each and every one of you who has found themselves in this situation.
