ONE LAST WORD..
Pope Benedict XVI will be installed on Sunday and Pope John Paul II has been laid to rest. Nothing more needs to be said, certainly by me but one image remains in my mind that just wont go away. I am not a fan of open caskets. And I certainly did not enjoy seeing the Pope carried around for days on a platter! But what bothered me the most was the sight of his feet sticking out from under his robes. Somehow in this situation a glorious red and gold, embroidered coverlet of some sort could cover his feet. Apparently he preferred leather loafers in life but laid out like that, they just looked somehow disrespectful.
