OPERATION GRATITUDE - HOLIDAY DRIVE 2005!
Operation Gratitude is in full swing again with the goal to send another 30,000 “care packages” to US troopsl overseas. This past weekend we managed to box, seal, and send over 16,000 packages. The founder of Operation Gratitude, Carolyn Blashek is pictured below with me (she is on the right) conceived this program 3 years ago and began out of her home. It is now based at the California Armory National Guard in Van nuys with hundreds of volunteers participating.
Every package is individually address to a specific soldier and contains such things as candy, CD’s, instant soup, sunscreeen, t-shirts, beef jerkey, gum, etc., and personal notes written by school children and community groups.
