HAPPY GOBBLE DAY!
Here’s hoping you have a fabulous Thanksgiving with family and friends! I am having the dinner at my house but this year we will have a smoked turkey and ham from Honey Baked Hams. By the way we all know they are delicious but don’t try to pick them up at the store the day before Thanksgiving. The line went outside, the credit card machine was broken and the “crowd control” people didn’t have the slightest idea how to manage so many people in such a small space. They were taking people out of order and putting them in different lines which didn’t help a bit. At first folks were becoming absolutely enraged. Eventually it became funny and we are started joking around. But I was never so glad to get out of a store in my life.
The whole idea here is not really the food but to give thanks for what you have and the sheer enjoyment of being with your family and friends. There is so much to be thankful for in this year of horific global catastrophes. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to be one of the Katrina survivors and not be in your own home with probably no hope of ever seeing your home much less living in it.
See eat, enjoy and be safe!
