BOMB SNIFFING WASPS!
It was reported on KFWB, a local news station, that research is being done in Georgia to train bomb sniffing wasps! This particular species of wasp does not sting humans (I hope), can be trained in five minutes and is as sensitive to smell as dogs. It is possible that the training could be expanded to sniff out cadavers, drugs and such. I am not sure how you contain a bunch of crazed wasps trying to locate their “prey”.
Would you say this puts a real “sting” in such operations? Sorry!
Is there unemployment for laid off, highly trained dogs?
