OSCAR THE CAT
July 26th, 2007This is a strange story which you may have heard about. I recently spent several weeks in the hospital and for reasons your will see I am very glad this cat didn’t come to see me! It seems that Oscar, a resident of a nursing home, curls up to patients who are nearing the end of their life. It is a mystery as to how he knows or senses this informatiion and for that matter why he chooses to spend the time with these patients. We can’t anothropormorphize this to say he is comforting them in their final hours but it is amazing. He has even been written up in a medical journal, The New England Journal of Medicine. The story sure does let us know how little we know about the animals we share this earth with! Here’s Oscar…….
